New Orleans metal band BRAT have released a new music video for “Spit on His Grave,” a track from their latest album, Manslayer, out now through Prosthetic Records.
Directed by Jeff Van Gerwen, the video arrives ahead of the band’s upcoming UK headline tour, which begins October 28 in Cardiff. BRAT will then join Napalm Death for their European “Campaign for Music Destruction” tour, running from November 6 through December 6.
“Spit on His Grave” continues the themes explored throughout Manslayer, which features lyrics centered on revenge and women reclaiming power. Vocalist Liz Selfish drew inspiration from country songs including The Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl,” Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” and Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpowder & Lead.”
“‘Spit on His Grave’ is one of our favorite songs to play live!” Selfish commented. “It’s a very in-your-face, high energy song, and in true BRAT form we wanted to make the video campy and high energy as well.”
Manslayer marks BRAT’s second full-length album, following their 2024 debut, Social Grace. The record was produced, engineered and mixed by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording in Chicago and mastered by Brad Boatright.
The band, consisting of Selfish, guitarist Brenner Moate, drummer Dustin Eagan and bassist Ian Hennessey, will perform six headline shows across the UK before joining Napalm Death for a month of European dates.
BRAT UK headline tour dates:
October 28 – Cardiff, UK – Clwb Ifor Bach
October 29 – Manchester, UK – Star & Garter
October 30 – Glasgow, UK – Room 2
November 1 – Birmingham, UK – The Flapper
November 3 – Bristol, UK – The Crofters’ Rights
November 4 – London, UK – The Black Heart
BRAT will also support Napalm Death on their European “Campaign for Music Destruction” tour from November 6 through December 6.
