Buckcherry tour bus involved in fatal multi-vehicle accident

Buckcherry have confirmed that their tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident early Friday morning on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

According to a statement released by the band, the accident occurred at approximately 2:00 AM. All members of Buckcherry and their touring crew were unharmed.

The band said authorities confirmed that a collision occurring ahead of their bus resulted in a fatality.

According to WYFF News 4, the crash occurred near mile marker 31 on I-26 and resulted in all eastbound lanes being closed for several hours.

The outlet reports that, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pedestrian had previously been involved in a crash in the area. After exiting their vehicle, the person was struck in the roadway and died at the scene.

The eastbound lanes reportedly reopened around 10:30 AM.

Buckcherry stated:

“At approximately 2:00 AM Friday morning, Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

“We are extremely grateful to report that all members of Buckcherry and our touring crew are safe and unharmed.

“Tragically, authorities have confirmed that the collision that occurred ahead of our bus resulted in a fatality. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life.”

Despite the accident, Buckcherry said their scheduled performance at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is expected to proceed as planned.
