Burning Witches name replacement as vocalist Laura Guldemond exits

Burning Witches have announced the departure of vocalist Laura Guldemond after seven years with the Swiss heavy metal band. The group confirmed that Jennifer Gruber of Fireborn will temporarily take over vocal duties for their remaining 2026 performances while they search for a permanent replacement.

The band shared the news on social media, explaining that Guldemond had decided to move on despite efforts to find a way forward together.

“We have talked things through and tried our very best to find a way forward together, but ultimately, we have to respect and accept her decision,” Burning Witches stated.

The group thanked Guldemond for her contributions over the years and reassured fans that all previously announced shows would proceed as planned.

“For our upcoming shows at the end of the year, our dear friend and fantastic vocalist Jennifer Gruber of Fireborn will step in and join us on stage,” the band confirmed.

Burning Witches also revealed that auditions are already underway for a new permanent frontwoman.

In a separate statement included in the announcement, Guldemond addressed her departure, explaining that she felt it was time to pursue a different creative direction.

“After seven incredible years, I’ve made the heartfelt decision to step down as the band’s singer,” she wrote. “These past years have been a phenomenal journey. I’m immensely proud of everything we accomplished, of the four heavy records we made together, and I will forever cherish the unforgettable memories we created along the way.”

She added that there were no hard feelings surrounding her departure.

“Sometimes it’s simply time for a change when visions no longer fully align.”

Guldemond also confirmed that she intends to continue making music, with plans to focus on her own projects and future creative opportunities.

Burning Witches concluded their announcement by wishing Guldemond well and reiterating their commitment to continuing as a band.

The group is scheduled to perform in Malta and Germany before the end of the year, with Gruber handling vocals for those appearances.
