Elder have postponed the remaining dates of their current tour with Blackwater Holylight as drummer Jack Donovan continues to battle a serious case of pneumonia.
The band shared the update on social media, revealing that Donovan remains hospitalized in Portland and could require treatment for several more days or weeks.
“Although he’s getting the care he needs, his treatment is likely to continue for a number of days to weeks,” Elder said. “As long as the situation remains critical, the thought of performing without him in any capacity is impossible.”
Elder added that ticketholders will be notified as rescheduled dates are arranged, though the process may take some time. Refunds will also be available through the original point of purchase for those unable to attend the rescheduled shows.
“We hate to disappoint and know that you’ve been looking forward to these shows as much as we have, but we’re also lucky to have the coolest fans in the world who doubtless understand the gravity of the situation,” the band continued. “We promise we’ll come back stronger and make it up to you.”
The band also thanked friends, family and fans for their support, as well as Blackwater Holylight for supporting Donovan and the rest of Elder during the situation.
No rescheduled dates have been announced yet.
