Evanescence experienced an unexpected stage incident during their show in Tampa, Florida on June 12th, when a curtain on the side of the stage briefly caught fire mid-performance.
The moment occurred roughly nine songs into the band’s set while they were performing “Calm Down” at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. According to fan footage and reports, the fire appeared to be triggered during a pyrotechnic effect near the side of the stage.
The situation was quickly handled by crew members, who extinguished the flames within seconds, allowing the band to continue performing without interruption and without appearing to break momentum.
Evanescence are currently on tour in support of their latest album Sanctuary, with Spiritbox and Nova Twins joining them on the North American run.
Despite the brief scare, the show continued as planned, and the band later acknowledged the Tampa crowd’s energy on social media.
Evanescence will continue their 2026 North American tour throughout the summer with a full run of amphitheatre and arena dates across the U.S. and Canada.
