Geordie Walker (Killing Joke) has died at 64

Sad news to report as Kevin “Geordie” Walker, known for his guitar work with post-punk legends Killing Joke, has died from a stroke at the age of 64.

Walker’s former Killing Joke bandmate, Martin Atkins, broke the news on social media earlier today, November 26th.

Killing Joke later confirmed the news via their social channels, saying “It is with extreme sadness we confirm that at 6:30am on 26th November 2023 in Prague, Killing Joke’s legendary guitarist Kevin “Geordie” Walker passed away after suffering a stroke, he was surrounded by family. We are devastated. Rest In Peace brother.”

Walker played an important role as a founding member of Killing Joke, standing alongside leadman Jaz Coleman, drummer Paul Ferguson, and bassist Youth. His contributions can be heard across the band’s entire discography, consisting of 15 full-length studio albums, plus a slew of extended plays, live albums, and compilations.

Walker also performed with industrial rock acts Murder, Inc. and The Damage Manual during his lifetime.

RIP, Geordie.
