Ice Nine Kills have released a new single, “Play Dead,” created in collaboration with the multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight as part of the game’s 10th anniversary celebration.
The song was written specifically for the anniversary and was developed alongside longtime Dead by Daylight composer Michel F. April. It arrives with an official music video and an in-game Ice Nine Kills Collection, allowing players to unlock band-inspired cosmetic items through downloadable content.
The release follows Ice Nine Kills’ recent Active Rock No. 1 single, “Twisting The Knife,” featuring Mckenna Grace, which was released in connection with Scream 7.
The “Play Dead” video features appearances from Tony Hawk, Devon Sawa, and Krsy Fox, along with members of the Dead by Daylight development team.
Frontman Spencer Charnas said the band wanted the song to feel “like a real extension of that universe, not just inspired by it, but genuinely part of it,” adding that they worked closely with composer Michel F. April and the Dead by Daylight development team throughout the process.
“Play Dead” is available now on streaming platforms alongside its official music video.
