Guitarists Joe Satriani and Brian Tarquin have released a new music video for “Tyranny of Tone,” the title track from Tarquin’s Heavy Friends album.
Created by 3Dave Visuals, the motion comic-style video follows Satriani and Tarquin performing amid the Southern California wildfires as firefighters work to contain the flames. The video concludes with residents returning to rebuild their communities as the affected landscape begins to recover.
The album is dedicated to raising awareness for the California Fire Foundation, an organization that supports firefighters, their families and communities affected by fires.
Tyranny of Tone features contributions from several musicians, including Steve Hackett (Genesis), Bruce Kulick (Kiss), Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns N’ Roses), Gary Hoey, Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), Stu Hamm, Doug Rappoport, Hal Lindes, Joe Deninzon and Karen Briggs.
According to the announcement, the album debuted at No. 32 on the Classic Rock charts.
3Dave Visuals previously worked with Tarquin and Satriani on the video for “Speed of Sound,” which received a Josie Award in 2023.
