John 5 to appear on upcoming Dolly Parton rock album

Guitar great John 5 (Mötley Crüe, ex-Rob Zombie) has been confirmed to guest on country music legend Dolly Parton’s upcoming rock album.

John 5 announced the news via Twitter earlier today, April 11th, sharing the above photo and saying the following: “I’m so honored that I got the opportunity to play guitar on one of the songs on the upcoming Dolly Parton album. I’ve been listening to Dolly ever since I can remember. Words cannot describe how exciting this is.”

Dolly Parton’s upcoming album is tentatively titled ‘Rock Star,’ and is slated for release later this year. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame star recently said on ‘The View’ that the impending release will also feature appearances by Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, and others. You can watch the televised segment below.

Last month, John 5’s Mötley Crüe bandmate Nikki Sixx tweeted that he also participated in the recording of Parton’s forthcoming rock record. “Played bass on a song for Dolly Parton yesterday,” the rocker said on Twitter. “Been back in the gym again to beat the jet-lag from the tour and enjoying family time.”

John 5 is currently on tour with the Crüe through July. Get more info at john-5.com.
