Left to Die have shared “Legion of Doom,” the third single from their upcoming debut full-length, Initium Mortis, due out July 17 via Relapse Records.
The track serves as the album opener and dates back to the early Mantas and Death demo era. According to bassist Terry Butler (Obituary, ex-Death), “‘Legion of Doom’ is heavy as hell. One of the best and earliest knuckle-dragging riffs out there. So heavy in fact, that Death brought the main riff back out of retirement for the song ‘Spiritual Healing!'”
Featuring original Death members Terry Butler and Rick Rozz alongside Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome) and Gus Rios (Gruesome), Left to Die’s Initium Mortis revisits material from Death’s formative years with updated production while staying true to the spirit of the original recordings.
The album arrives July 17 on CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats through Relapse Records. Left to Die will also head to Europe in August and Latin America in September in support of the release.
