Mudvayne and HELLYEAH frontman Chad Gray has released a cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” accompanied by an official music video.
Originally released by Aguilera in 2002 and written by Linda Perry, the song addresses themes of self-acceptance, insecurity and personal struggles. Gray explained that its message has resonated with him for years, particularly through his journey toward sobriety.
“‘Beautiful’ is a song about self-acceptance, finding your inner beauty and overcoming insecurity,” Gray wrote on social media. “I have struggled my entire life with all of those things so when I heard it years ago, it spoke to me.”
Gray added that his connection to the song has grown as he has worked on himself and his sobriety.
“As I have found sobriety and worked on myself, I have found even more of a connection with this song,” he continued. “My songwriting has always been driven by my experiences and feelings, from dark to light from helpless to hopeful.”
