‘Punk Island 2020’ has been postponed

Randall’s Island, NY’s ‘Punk Island 2020’ – scheduled for June 20 – has been officially postponed.

Organizers write:

Hey punx, we hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe during quarantine. We’ve been quietly waiting and watching the situation for a few weeks now and given the way things are currently unfolding, the only logical thing we can do at this point is to postpone the fest. It breaks our hearts but it is the most responsible thing to do to keep folks safe and healthy during a very uncertain time.

As of now, we are treating this is a POSTPONEMENT only and we are doing everything we can to still hold the fest at a later date, however, we do not have a new date locked in right now. Despite that, we still wanted to give you an update and to let you know we are working on it and will fight tooth and nail to be able to have the fest later in the year (we are aiming for late summer/early fall at this point pending availability of Randall’s Island) The instant we have more info and a date confirmed, we will shout it from the rooftops to let you all know so there is no need at this point to message and ask for more info because this is all the info we have at the moment. Submissions will stay open so you can still send your info/tunes in to us, but please understand that this remains a volunteer run organization and we are all dealing with profound changes in our lives- just as everyone is- so you may not get a response right away.

Stay safe and stay inside! Share your livestreams with us too! See you (hopefully) soon punx

The event, as always, is all ages and free to the public.
