New York-based heavy/thrash metal project Quemasantos recently announced their upcoming second full-length album, Stranded In Hell, due out October 9, 2026 through Digmetalworld and MVD Entertainment Group.
Built as an eleven-chapter concept album, Stranded In Hell follows a protagonist’s descent through an infernal world where themes of fear, temptation, justice, isolation, and survival unfold across the record’s tracklist. Rather than a collection of separate songs, the album is presented as a continuous story with each chapter revealing another part of the journey.
Musically, the album draws from classic heavy and thrash metal while incorporating cinematic elements and dynamic arrangements.
For Ignacio Orellana, Stranded In Hell marks a new chapter creatively. Best known as a drummer, Orellana steps forward as the project’s bassist on the album while also handling composition, production, recording, mixing, and mastering.
“I’ve been a drummer since I was fourteen, but I’ve always wanted to play bass and develop my own musical ideas. This album became the opportunity to finally do that,” Orellana explains. “The music wasn’t written to fit a genre or follow trends; it simply reflects the records I’ve listened to throughout my life and everything I was experiencing while writing it.”
The album’s lyrics were written by longtime collaborator Nelson Díaz, who helped shape the story behind the record. The track “Burning The Black” stands apart as a personal song written by Orellana, inspired by the illness and passing of his wife, Ximena Muñoz.
Adding another element to the concept, each song features a guest guitarist from the international metal scene, with contributions from musicians across Chile, the United States, Brazil, and Colombia.
