Swedish power metal giants Sabaton have announced a special 10th anniversary edition of their landmark 2016 album, The Last Stand, arriving September 11 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The expanded release marks the first time the album will include all four bonus tracks alongside newly packaged editions featuring alternative artwork. Fans can also pick up a CD+DVD Digibook containing live footage filmed during Sabaton Open Air 2016.
Originally released in 2016, The Last Stand became one of Sabaton’s most successful albums, reaching the Top 10 worldwide and topping the charts in multiple countries. The record includes fan favorites such as “The Last Stand,” “Winged Hussars,” “Shiroyama,” and “Blood of Bannockburn.”
Bassist Pär Sundström reflected on the milestone: “Who would have believed that 10 years could fly by so fast? We have so many great memories tied to The Last Stand, so we’re really happy to celebrate its 10th anniversary with the special edition vinyl and digibook with all the extras.”
Sundström also highlighted the DVD’s significance, noting that it captures guitarist Thobbe Englund’s farewell performance with the band at Sabaton Open Air 2016 before his eight-year absence.
“Of course, none of us knew at the time that he’d eventually return to the band in 2024, which makes looking back at those moments even more meaningful.”
