Sean Kennedy of Deez Nuts and I Killed The Prom Queen fame died yesterday, February 23rd, at the young age of 35. A cause of death has not been revealed as of this posting.
Former I Killed The Prom Queen frontman Michael Crafter broke the news today, he said:
For years we stood side by side on stage or in band photos. We slept on floors, in vans, planes and some how managed to tour the world. Time went way to fast. We experienced highs and lows on the road and after all we went through, you will always be my friend. As the years passed us by I’m glad we’ve always been there for each other.
When I called you last week I didn’t think it would be the last. I wish I could say goodbye.
Love and will always miss you mate.Rest In Peace
Sean Kennedy 24/6/1985 – 23/2/2021
Sean played bass in I Killed The Prom Queen from 2003–2007, in 2008, and again from 2011–2013. Sean also performed in Deez Nuts in 2008 and left in 2009, but he later returned to the outfit in 2014 and was an active member of the band up until his death.
Reactions/tributes have been coming in since the news broke, you can see a few of them below.
RIP, Sean.
Sean Kennedy was one of the few band guys I worked with at JB who didn’t look down on people with different taste than him. He was a lovely guy who was so much fun to work with, I’m devastated for his friends, family and bandmates. 💔💔💔
