Guitarist Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus) has shared via social media the news that he is currently suffering from symptoms of COVID-19 aka Coronavirus.
The message reads:
So I’ve been locked away with @lisaholt777 , suffering from all the symptoms of Corona, without the beer! Mildly sick, better today after repeatedly waking up soaked in sweat last night. Self monitoring with my better half, and unfortunately, won’t be able to visit my grandkids until I’m symptom free for seven days. Ugh. Movie time, binge watching TV, and waiting this out!
Fans have shown their support since the announcement was made, wishing the shredder well wishes and a speedy recovery on his social page. Guitarist John 5 (Rob Zombie) was taken by the news, simply writing: “No no no,” with comedian Dean Delray posting “Hope your ok Gary 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏” on Holt’s Instagram reveal (as seen below).
Needless to say, get better Gary!
UPDATE: Gary and his wife Lisa Holt have since been tested for COVID-19, and are currently waiting for the results:
