Source release heavier cover of Radiohead’s “Optimistic”

Source have released a new cover of Radiohead’s “Optimistic,” putting their own heavier spin on the track.

The trio’s version of “Optimistic” retains the atmosphere of the original while incorporating a faster tempo, heavier guitar tones, and a new ending built around a heavy riff.

Discussing the release, the band said they wanted to stay true to the song while making it their own: “When we decided to cover ‘Optimistic’ we really wanted to showcase our love for the song while bringing our own voice to the arrangement. The tones are much heavier, the tempo is faster so it feels like there’s more energy, and the way we flip the ending into a heavy riff is my favorite part of our version.”

Source’s interpretation blends their progressive, psychedelic rock style with the structure of Radiohead’s original, resulting in a fresh take on the 1997 track.
