Christian metal pioneers Stryper have released their new single “Ashes To Roses,” the latest track taken from their upcoming 18th studio album, Throne of Thorns, arriving September 25 via Frontiers Music Srl (pre-order).
The band has also shared an official lyric video for the new song, which showcases a different side of Stryper’s signature sound. According to vocalist and guitarist Michael Sweet, “Ashes To Roses” delivers a more classic rock-inspired approach while still featuring the elements fans have come to expect from the band.
Sweet comments: “‘Ashes To Roses’ is definitely a little different for us. It’s got a little bit more of a throwback/classic rock vibe yet it’s got everything you would expect from STRYPER. It’s going to appeal all the people out there who have been wanting a good melodic rock ballad from the band. You asked, we listened!”
Throne of Thorns follows Stryper’s decades-long career as one of the most influential bands in classic metal, combining their trademark melodic songwriting, soaring guitar harmonies, powerful vocals, and faith-driven message.
Bassist Perry Richardson adds: “The best music doesn’t come from comfort. It comes from living, struggling, growing, and refusing to quit. I hope these songs find you exactly when you need them.”
The upcoming album features Michael Sweet’s unmistakable vocals alongside the musicianship of guitarist Oz Fox, drummer Robert Sweet, and Richardson, delivering a collection that honors the band’s legacy while continuing to push their sound forward.
