Australian extreme metal band The Berzerker returned to the stage last month, performing their first show in 17 years at Necrosonic Festival in Brisbane.
The band made their long-awaited live return on August 22 at the Mansfield Tavern, but the set was temporarily halted after a fan was knocked unconscious in the pit during “The Deception.”
Medical assistance was provided and the fan was taken to safety before The Berzerker resumed their performance. The band later confirmed that the attendee was okay and urged fans to look out for one another at their shows.
“We had to stop the show mid-set after a fan was knocked out in the pit. Luckily she’s okay,” the band said. “Please look after each other at our shows — go as hard as you want, but we want you all going home safe.”

The Berzerker have two additional shows currently scheduled for 2026, including a Melbourne appearance in October and a performance at Damnation Festival in Manchester, UK in November.

The band’s previously unreleased album, The Reawakening, is also set to arrive October 30 through Apocalyptic Witchcraft. The record will be available on limited-edition splatter vinyl, digipak CD and cassette.
