Dutch heavy psych and stoner rock trio The Machine have released “Drop/See,” the first single and music video from their upcoming eighth studio album, Another Sun, due out October 2.
The new album will be released through Blues Funeral Recordings in the UK and North America, while Awe Records, in cooperation with Stickman Records, will handle the European release.
Recorded in late 2025 at Evolver Studio, guitarist and vocalist David Eering’s newly built recording space in Dordrecht, Another Sun is the first studio album featuring the band’s current lineup of Eering, bassist Chris Both, and drummer Klaas Dijkstra.
According to Eering, the record embraces the band’s earlier sound while moving forward creatively.
“Another Sun is an important milestone to me personally. It’s the first record with this lineup and the first one I recorded at my own studio, Evolver Studio. Without intending to, I think we managed to honor a more old-school The Machine vibe while also stepping into the future.”
For nearly two decades, The Machine have blended stoner rock, heavy psych, space rock, doom, progressive rock, and ’90s alternative influences into a sound that has earned them a loyal following across Europe. Another Sun follows that tradition while continuing the band’s evolution.
