Torn Away have shared an update with fans explaining their recent silence, revealing a lineup change along with health and personal issues affecting members of the band.
In a statement posted to social media, vocalist Cameron confirmed that guitarist Dave has parted ways with the group to pursue a different musical direction.
“Our guitarist Dave has sought out a different path musically and we wish him the best,” Cameron stated.
The band also revealed that drummer Kevin has been dealing with serious health problems. While his situation remains uncertain, Cameron said Kevin is “still going strong.”
Bassist Joe, meanwhile, has been dealing with personal matters that have contributed to slowing down the band’s activity. Cameron also cited changes in his own work and family life, including switching shifts at his job and adjusting to his children starting new schools.
“These aren’t excuses, they are just the reasons for you guys to understand our silence,” Cameron explained.
Despite the setbacks, Torn Away have no plans to call it quits and intend to continue making new music once circumstances allow.
“We still plan on kicking shit out and making killer music, but family and health comes first,” Cameron concluded. “Much love, Cameron and the Torn Away boys.”
