Sad news to report as lead singer of The Black Dahlia Murder, Trevor Scott Strnad, has passed away at the age of 41. The Black Dahlia Murder confirmed the news via a message posted on their socials earlier today, May 11th.
Trevor’s official cause of death has not been confirmed, though The Black Dahlia Murder provided the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number in their statement, which reads:
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad. Beloved son, brother, and Shepard of good times, he was loved by all that met him. A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horror and whimsy. It was his life to be your show.

As a founder of The Black Dahlia Murder, Trevor contributed to all nine of the band’s studio albums, with the latest being 2020’s ‘Verminous’ via Metal Blade Records.
The Black Dahlia Murder were scheduled to hit North American roads with Parkway Drive this spring, but that tour was cancelled in April. TBDM also planned a European trek (with a bunch of festival appearances) for August.
RIP, Trevor. See a few tributes below.

This one really hurts. Trevor was an inspiration to so many of us and was one of the best dudes I’ve met in the scene. He was a powerhouse frontman, an incredible lyricist but above all he was a great friend who always made me laugh. I love you man

I’m absolutely gutted hearing Trevor Strnad has passed on. Idk what i’d be doing music wise if it weren’t for The Black Dahlia Murder’s influence. Dude was super chill and his vocal performance and stage presence were always on point. RIP Legend pic.twitter.com/sn4R9JLgWZ
