Zeal & Ardor have teamed up with French electronic musician Carpenter Brut for a new remix of “Devil Is Fine,” released through MVKA.
Titled “Devil Is Fine x Carpenter Brut,” the track reworks the title song from Zeal & Ardor’s 2016 debut album, combining the original’s black metal and spiritual influences with Carpenter Brut’s synth-driven electronic sound.
“Imagine if one of the most capable electronic musicians out there remixed a song of ours,” said Zeal & Ardor mastermind Manuel Gagneux. “Imagine if that would result in a track that might eclipse the original. Imagine if you could listen to such a thing right now. We give you ‘Devil Is Fine x Carpenter Brut.'”
Carpenter Brut added: “Zeal & Ardor have such a distinctive sound so it was a real pleasure to take ‘Devil Is Fine’ into my own world while keeping the spirit of the original.”
The collaboration follows the recent release of Devil Is Fine X, a remastered edition of Zeal & Ardor’s debut album featuring five previously unreleased bonus tracks. The band’s latest studio album, GREIF, arrived in 2024.
Meanwhile, Carpenter Brut recently released Leather Temple, the final installment of his Leather trilogy, through No Quarter Prod/Virgin Records.
“Devil Is Fine x Carpenter Brut” is available now on digital streaming platforms.
