A Perfect Circle guitarist Billy Howerdel has teamed up with ANALOGr for an auction featuring more than 120 pieces of musical equipment, memorabilia and collectibles from his career.
Bidding will open November 8 and run through November 16, with items spanning Howerdel’s work with A Perfect Circle, including equipment used during the recording of the band’s albums Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step.
Among the items available is “Youth Number Three (Beautiful Losers),” an original oil painting by Steven R. Gilmore that appeared in the interior artwork for Mer de Noms.
The auction also includes a Yamaha AES 1500 guitar used on the songs “The Noose” and “Vanishing,” as well as extensively throughout Thirteenth Step. The instrument was primarily used in the studio but occasionally appeared during live performances.
Other notable items include a Fender Tone Master amplifier head and cabinet purchased after A Perfect Circle’s first tour, an Apogee PS 1000 acquired at the suggestion of producer Alan Moulder and used extensively on Mer de Noms, and a Gibson Goldtone GA-15RV amplifier used during the Thirteenth Step era and beyond.
Howerdel, who co-founded A Perfect Circle with Maynard James Keenan, has also worked as a guitar technician for Nine Inch Nails and the Smashing Pumpkins. Outside of A Perfect Circle, he has released music under the Ashes Divide name and as a solo artist.
A preview of the auction, including photos and videos featuring Howerdel discussing the items, is available now at Analogr.com.
Bidding begins November 8 and closes November 16.
