Accept have released a new version of “Losers and Winners,” featuring Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch alongside Paul Gilbert, Chuck Garric and Tommy Aldridge.
Originally featured on Accept’s 1983 album Balls to the Wall, the re-recorded track appears on the band’s upcoming 50th anniversary album, Teutonic Titans 1976-2026, which arrives this Friday, September 4 through Napalm Records.
The new rendition features Kürsch on vocals, Gilbert on guitar, Garric on bass and Aldridge on drums. A static video for the track is also available.
“We’ve known Hansi for a long time,” guitarist Wolf Hoffmann said. “Funnily enough, we’ve never really toured together or hardly ever played at festivals together, but we’ve known and respected each other for many years.”
Hoffmann continued, “I thought Hansi would be a cool guy for that song, and lo and behold, he did a fantastic job. I really like how much effort people put into it. Nobody phoned it in and did a half-assed job. Everyone gave it all.”
Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 celebrates Accept’s 50th anniversary with 19 newly recorded versions of songs from the band’s catalog and contributions from 50 guest musicians. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Zeuss.
Among the other guests are Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett and Mikkey Dee on “Fast as a Shark,” while Billy Corgan and David Ellefson appear on “Love Child.” Sebastian Bach, Todd La Torre, Dino Jelusick, Ola Englund, Alex Skolnick, Rudy Sarzo and Chris Jericho are also among the musicians featured across the record.
“There is no better way to celebrate this 50-year anniversary than to have our musical peers, friends, and inspirations come together with us to record these classic Accept songs, which I am honored and proud to share with the world,” Hoffmann previously said. “I hope everyone enjoys this very special record as much as we all enjoyed making it.”
Accept will support the release with a European tour beginning November 19 in Leipzig, Germany, featuring Dynazty and Tailgunner as guests.
