Airbourne drop new single “Kid In A Candy Store,” detail self-titled album

Airbourne have released their new single, “Kid In A Candy Store,” along with details for their upcoming self-titled album, due out August 28 via Spinefarm.

The new song follows previously released singles “Gutsy,” “Christmas Bonus,” and “Alive After Death (Last Plane Out),” continuing the rollout for the Australian hard rockers’ first new album in several years.

Drummer Ryan O’Keeffe said the band approached the record with one goal in mind: “We said, this is it, let’s make the oracle. And if we’re going to do it, no corner can be cut.” He added, “This record distils everything we stand for into one place… It’s the best album we could possibly have made.”

Frontman Joel O’Keeffe echoed that sentiment, saying, “Everything we are as a band, our heart and soul, is in this record.”

The self-titled album features 12 tracks, including “Gutsy,” “Christmas Bonus,” “Alive After Death (Last Plane Out),” and the newly released “Kid In A Candy Store.” It was produced by Brian Howes, engineered by Mike Fraser, mixed by Zakk Cervini, and mastered by Ted Jensen.

Airbourne are currently on the road for a lengthy run of European festival and headline dates throughout July, August, and early September in support of the upcoming release.
