Apolinara shares her playlist (Moonspell, Therion, Nightwish)

Wilmington, Delaware-based artist Apolinara recently released her first full-length studio album titled ‘Shadows and Signs,’ an effort filled with piano melodies, harmonious vocals and heavy symphonic and gothic metal elements — check out the record at this location.

Today (and continuing with our ongoing column), Apolinara has generously created and shared with us a Spotify playlist consisting of tunes from Therion, Moonspell, Lacrimosa, Nightwish, Theatre of Tragedy, After Forever and more. The tracks are streamable here and below.

Apolinara tells us, “For this playlist I gathered all the musical “jewels” that shaped me as an artist for the last 20 years. So let me take you on the journey down my memory lane. We are opening with Therion, Moonspell and Lacrimosa. I was 14 y.o. when I discovered these bands, I was blown away by the heavy metal and classical music blend. Next era brought me strong female vocalists to look up to – Nightwish, Theatre of Tragedy, After Forever, Within Temptation… There’s only one “not metal” band in my list – Evanescence. But I deeply admire their gothic vibes, lyrics, and haunting vocal harmonies. Amy Lee is a great role model for all female leading bands. We are closing with my own song – “Shadows and Signs” – the title song of the debut Apolinara album [released February 22, 2022].”
