Polish extreme metal veterans Behemoth have released a new single, “I, Scvlptor,” along with an accompanying music video produced by Polish creative collective Grupa 13.
The title track serves as the first taste of I, Scvlptor, an upcoming eight-track release due out September 4 via Massacre Records and Nuclear Blast. The collection will feature seven previously unreleased studio recordings and one live track, including re-recorded versions of early Behemoth songs “Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil” and “In Thy Pandemaeternum,” as well as covers of songs by Venom and Bathory.
Speaking on the new single, frontman Adam ‘Nergal’ Darski said:
‘I, Scvlptor’ is a new Behemoth song rooted in the tradition of monumental tracks like ‘O Father O Satan O Sun!’, ‘Lucifer’ or ‘Nieboga Czarny Xiądz’, while at the same time opening a new chapter.
Nergal also described the song as a metaphor for the ongoing process of shaping oneself while confronting life’s limitations.
Behemoth are also set to hit the road this October as part of the previously announced “In League With Satan” European co-headline tour with Dimmu Borgir and special guests Dark Funeral. The trek begins October 9 in Zurich, Switzerland, and runs through October 30 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
