Big Wreck have announced a 25th anniversary edition of their second studio album, The Pleasure And The Greed, arriving November 6 on digital platforms. The reissue will also mark the album’s first-ever vinyl release.
Originally released in June 2001, the 16-track record has been remixed and remastered by frontman Ian Thornley and producer Eric Ratz. The anniversary edition includes three previously unreleased bonus recordings: a version of “Mistake” featuring Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, an alternate version of “Breakthrough” featuring Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy, and a stripped-down 2026 demo of “Mistake.”
Reflecting on the project, Thornley explained that he had long been dissatisfied with the album’s original sound.
“This album has long been a polarizing subject in and around the Big Wreck camp,” he said.
“I’ve always believed in the music. I’ve always wondered what would happen if we got another crack at it. What if those songs got the treatment we thought they deserved?”
Thornley added that revisiting the original recordings allowed him and Ratz to approach the material with a fresh perspective, 25 years after its initial release.
“When the opportunity arose and we found out that the recordings still existed, I couldn’t wait to hear what was actually there,” he explained. “To my surprise, the initial raw recordings were okay, without the weird balances and sizzle the album always had. Apparently, that happened in the mix.”
The anniversary release arrives as Big Wreck prepare to join Alter Bridge on a North American tour beginning November 5 in Philadelphia. The run also includes two Big Wreck headlining performances in Sioux City, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska, before wrapping up December 5 in Reno, Nevada.
