Body Count release seventh album ‘Carnivore’ (stream it)

LA metallers Body Count (ft. Ice-T) have officially unleashed their seventh studio full-length record, ‘Carnivore,’ via Century Media.

Engineered, mixed, mastered and produced by Will Putney (Four Year Strong, Knocked Loose, After the Burial), the effort features 11 pummeling tracks and boasts guest appearances by Power Trip’s Riley Gale (on “Point the Finger”), Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta (on “Another Level”), and Evanescence’s Amy Lee (on “When I’m Gone”).

The LP also includes a contribution from Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) on “Colors 2020” and “6 In That Morning” (both of which are metalized versions of Ice-T rap songs), a cameo by Jello Biafra (ex-Dead Kennedys) on “The Hate Is Real,” and a cover of the Motörhead classic “Ace of Spades.”

“Humans are animals, pretty much in denial of just how savage we can be,” says singer Ice-T regarding the new album. “The songs on Carnivore play out that theme in different ways. It’s not about a diet; it’s about being bloodthirsty creatures.”
