Dan Lilker to play shows with Anthrax

Dan Lilker to join Anthrax for upcoming U.S. & South American tour dates

Thrash metal legends Anthrax have announced that, due to personal reasons, bassist Frank Bellow will not be able to join the band on their upcoming South American tour, starting on April 13th at ‘MXMF the Metal Fest’ in Mexico. Filling in for Bellow during these dates, as well as for two major U.S. festival shows in May, will be Anthrax founding member and original bassist Dan Lilker. This marks Lilker’s first appearance with the band in 40 years!

Lilker, who contributed to the writing and played on Anthrax’s first album ‘Fistful of Metal,’ also joined forces with drummer Charlie Benante and guitarist Scott Ian as a member of Stormtroopers of Death.

I’m really looking forward to jamming with Anthrax again,” comments Lilker. “When we parted ways back in 1984, they told me to stick around because they might need me in 40 years.”

The band adds, “We’re all very excited about with playing with Danny again, and we really appreciate his filling in for Frank. It’s been way too long since we played South America, so you don’t want to miss these shows, they’re going to be insane.”

During the last four decades, Lilker has remained active, contributing his bass skills to a diverse range of bands. He served as the bassist for thrash/metal band Nuclear Assault and grindcore band Brutal Truth. Additionally, he has been involved with Exit-13, Malformed Earthborn, The Ravenous, Overlord Exterminator, Venomous Concept, and numerous other projects.
