Swedish black metal veterans Dark Funeral have released “We Are The Apocalypse (Live in Stockholm),” the second single and official live video from their upcoming live album, A Beast To Praise, due out August 21 via Century Media Records (pre-order).
Recorded at Fållan in Stockholm in 2022, A Beast To Praise captures Dark Funeral’s performance during the touring cycle for their 2022 studio album We Are The Apocalypse. The live release spans 13 tracks and nearly 70 minutes, showcasing the band’s live intensity while closing the chapter on the album that charted across Europe following its release.
Reflecting on the live album, guitarist Lord Ahriman said: “‘A Beast To Praise’ captures a very important moment in the history of Dark Funeral — not only the live release ritual for We Are The Apocalypse, but also our return to the stage after years of silence during the pandemic. That night at Fållan was intense in every possible way… This release is the immortal document of that night.”
He added that with the live album and the band’s upcoming European tour, the We Are The Apocalypse era is coming to a close as Dark Funeral turn their attention to a new studio album planned for 2027.
