Disfear release “Shackled to Our Vice” from upcoming album ‘The Last Nail’

Swedish crust punk outfit Disfear have released their new single, “Shackled to Our Vice,” taken from their forthcoming album, The Last Nail, due November 20, 2026, via Relapse Records (pre-order). The record features some of the final recordings by late vocalist Tomas Lindberg and drummer Marcus Andersson, both of whom passed away before its release.

The eight-track album was recorded before the musicians’ deaths and serves as a tribute to their legacies. According to the band, Lindberg and Andersson had expressed their desire for the record to be released despite their respective health struggles.

The new single, “Shackled to Our Vice,” continues Disfear’s blend of D-beat punk, heavy metal and rock ‘n’ roll influences.

Recording sessions for The Last Nail took place at multiple studios, including God City Studios with Kurt Ballou and Welfare Sounds in Gothenburg with Per Stålberg.

During a session at Welfare Sounds in spring 2023, Lindberg had originally planned to make minor adjustments to previously recorded demo vocals. Instead, he re-recorded his performances across all eight tracks.

Later that year, Lindberg was diagnosed with cancer, which significantly limited his subsequent creative activities. The band’s announcement notes that the vocalist had already been exploring themes of death, illness and darkness in his lyrics before receiving his diagnosis.

The Last Nail was mixed by Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios and mastered by Sören Von Malmborg at Cosmos Mastering.

The album marks a significant final chapter for Disfear’s lineup with Lindberg and Andersson, preserving their contributions to the band’s music.
