Heilung have announced their return to Australia and New Zealand for a series of performances in March 2027, marking the end of the experimental folk group’s extended hiatus from live shows.
The seven-date trek, part of their ELDGJÆRÐHA World Tour, will begin with two performances at the Sydney Opera House on March 1 and 2, followed by stops in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. The tour will conclude on March 16 at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
Lilith Max will appear as a special guest on select dates, excluding the two Sydney performances.
In a statement announcing the tour, Heilung expressed their excitement about returning to the region and performing at the Sydney Opera House for the first time.
“It is with great honour that we can reveal the first performances after our long hiatus will commence Down Under,” the group stated. “Even more so because the first time we set our bare feet on stage again, will be in the beautiful halls of the Sydney Opera House.”
The band also noted that they will once again collaborate with First Nations people during the tour, continuing a tradition of incorporating local cultural participation into their live performances.
“Once again, we will also have the honour of sharing the ritual and dance with First Nations people of these lands, meeting old and new friends and honouring the local spirits together,” Heilung added.
Tickets for the Sydney performances go on sale October 23 at 9 a.m. AEDT, following a presale beginning October 21 at noon AEDT.
For all remaining dates, early bird tickets will be available starting October 27 at 9 a.m. local time, with general sales beginning October 29 at 9 a.m. local time.
