Phoenix, Arizona trap metal band Dropout Kings have released an official music video for “Deadname,” a track from their latest album, Yokai.
The album, released in 2025, features the final recordings of late vocalist Adam Ramey, who died on May 19, 2025, at the age of 32. Ramey completed work on the record shortly before his passing.
The new video features colorful, digitally distorted visuals accompanying the song. Speaking about the track, vocalist Black Cat Bill commented:
“Some songs you sing, others you let the spirits speak through you. This is ‘Deadname.'”
Yokai was released as a tribute to Ramey, with the band bringing together current and former members to celebrate his life and musical contributions. Dropout Kings also supported the album with live performances honoring the late frontman.
Dropout Kings are currently comprised of vocalists Black Cat Bill and Rob Sebastian, guitarist Chucky Guzman and The Cowboy Drummer.
The band also have a European and UK tour scheduled for April alongside Ghøstkid, Seven Blood and Stain The Canvas.
