German symphonic metal band Xandria have postponed their scheduled concert in Berlin due to a norovirus outbreak affecting several members of their touring party.
The band announced the news on social media, explaining that multiple band and crew members had fallen ill, including Marco and vocalist Ambre Vourvahis.
“Several members of our band and crew, starting with Marco, have fallen ill,” Xandria wrote. “Unfortunately, the virus has now also affected Ambre, who has been violently sick throughout the night and all morning.”
The group apologized to fans who had planned to attend the concert, saying the decision to postpone was unavoidable.
“We are absolutely devastated to have to cancel tonight, especially knowing that so many of you were looking forward to this show,” the band continued. “We are deeply sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and were waiting to see us.”
Xandria confirmed that the Berlin performance will be rescheduled, with a new date to be announced.
The postponement follows the band’s recent cancellation of their scheduled concert in Belgrade, Serbia, after they were unable to obtain the necessary entry paperwork in time.
In that earlier announcement, Xandria expressed disappointment over the cancellation and advised ticketholders to contact their original ticket sellers for refunds. No replacement date was announced for the Belgrade show.
The band has not announced whether any additional performances will be affected by the illness.
