Alternative rock band Earshot have released their new single “Love Left” via Judge & Jury / SV Records, along with an official music video.
The deeply personal track was inspired in part by frontman Wil Martin’s reaction to the death of Chris Cornell and the questions surrounding mental health, grief and finding something to hold onto during difficult periods.
Martin explains: “Chris Cornell’s death shook me to my absolute core. It wasn’t just the loss of an artist I revered; it was the terrifying realization that someone who, from the outside, seemed to have so much – talent, family, success, freedom – could still somehow be completely overwhelmed by internal pain and hopelessness. I was riddled with anxiety for weeks.”
He continued: “I would often think to myself: if someone who has every reason to live can still be consumed by darkness, where does that leave people like me? Could any of us suddenly self-destruct without seeing it coming?”
Those thoughts eventually became the foundation for “Love Left,” with Martin describing the song as being about finding even a small amount of love within yourself during difficult times.
“I don’t pretend to have all or even any of the answers,” he says. “But what I came to believe for myself is that as long as I can find even just a spark of love within me, there’s something there to hold onto. That realization became the soul of this song.”
The accompanying music video expands on the song’s themes through a dark, crumbling setting centered around a single glowing light bulb, representing the inner spark someone is attempting to protect while everything around them appears to be falling apart.

The new single arrives as Earshot continue supporting their recent album, Humaning, which has surpassed one million streams. The band currently reaches more than 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Earshot will also hit the road this fall, with upcoming dates including an appearance at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY on September 18. The run continues through early October and wraps up at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA.
