Squid Pisser have released their new single “Leeches,” the latest preview of their upcoming release, Throat Slave, which arrives August 28 via Skin Graft Records / Sweatband Records (pre-order).
The new track is accompanied by an animated music video and offers another taste of the project led by Tommy Meehan, also known as Grodius Maximus of GWAR.

Following 2024’s Dreams of Puke, Throat Slave is described as a “full-length EP” featuring six original tracks alongside a collection of remixes. The release finds Squid Pisser expanding their chaotic sound with more groove, atmosphere and dynamic shifts.
Throat Slave also marks the first Squid Pisser release to prominently feature creative contributions from guitarists Michael Armendariz and Raz Azraai alongside Meehan.
Discussing the themes behind the record, Meehan, performing under his Baxter Yogurt moniker, explains: “Throat Slave is a collection of songs about defending your identity from parasites… Whether they’re people, institutions, bad habits, or the voice in your own head telling you to play it safe. The record is filled with bodily fluids, vermin, disease, and decay because that’s what these forces feel like when they’re attached to you and feeding. Every song is a battle between self-determination and surrender.”
He adds: “The answer isn’t self-improvement or enlightenment… It’s trusting yourself enough to reject what’s false. Don’t become somebody else’s ‘Throat Slave.’”
The second half of the release features reworkings from Plack Blague, Drumcorps, Fartbarf, Ecology: HomeStones, Hyper Gal, dj Embryonic Petit Sac and KK Null of Zeni Geva.

Squid Pisser are currently on their “Tumors Across America Tour,” which runs through September 13 in Kansas City, MO. The band will return to the road in October for three dates supporting The Dillinger Escape Plan in Portland, Vancouver and Seattle.
