Emily Wolfe has released a new single, “Power,” along with an official music video.
The track is the second preview of Wolfe’s forthcoming album, due out later this year through Judge & Jury Records. It follows “Lips,” which was produced by Gavin Brown and features Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal.
Speaking about the inspiration behind “Power,” Wolfe explained that the song deals with basic human desires and the willingness to acknowledge them openly.
“What do we all really want? If you strip everything away, what is it? Power. Sex. Honey. Flesh. Primal,” Wolfe said. “The most fundamental human desires. I think everybody wants those things, they just don’t always say it out loud. That song is me saying it out loud.”
The new single arrives after Wolfe spent part of the summer on the road with Yungblud. She’ll head back out this month for several dates supporting Frank Turner, including Lost Evenings IX in Dallas, before joining Toadies for a run of shows in October.
