Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri says he was removed from the side of the stage and stripped of his access pass following an attempted conversation with Glenn Danzig at Louder Than Life.
The alleged incident took place Thursday night (September 17) during Pantera’s set at the Louisville, Kentucky festival, where both Palmeri and Danzig had appeared earlier in the day.
Palmeri took to social media following the encounter, explaining that he had briefly been watching Pantera from side stage when he approached Danzig in an attempt to ask him about a mutual friend.
According to Palmeri, the interaction resulted in Danzig’s security demanding that he be removed from the area and have his access pass taken away.
“I made the mistake of attempting to strike a conversation with Glen Danzig…while side stage…which lead to his security demanding I be removed from the stage and stripped of my access pass,” Palmeri wrote.
He continued, “For what? Being a human being and asking about a mutual friend?”
Palmeri went on to express his frustration with Danzig, his security and a stage manager involved in the situation.
Earlier in his post, Palmeri spoke about his admiration for Pantera, noting that he had previously been asked to perform the band’s material live as a tribute to late members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul.
Palmeri had also joined The Acacia Strain on stage earlier that day at Louder Than Life for a performance of “Whoa! Shut It Down.”
At the time of this posting, Danzig has not publicly responded to Palmeri’s account of the incident.
