Exhumed, Nunslaughter, Molder & Traffic Death announce 4-way split

Exhumed, Nunslaughter, Molder and Traffic Death have joined forces for a new 4-way split LP featuring previously unreleased material from all four bands.

The release brings together four different corners of the underground extreme metal scene, with the project rooted in longstanding friendships, shared DIY ethics and years of touring within the punk and metal underground.

Exhumed are leading the release with “Roadside Attraction,” one of several songs that originated during the sessions for the band’s Red Asphalt material but ultimately did not make the final album sequence.

“When Nate from Traffic Death approached me with this wild concept for a four-way split LP, I knew it would be a perfect place to showcase some of the non-album tracks,” Exhumed’s Matt Harvey explained.

Harvey added that “Roadside Attraction” was inspired by the band’s mid-1990s era and even incorporates a riff dating back to that period.

“Roadside Attraction is one of my favorite tunes from the whole session, as it evokes the spirit of what we were trying to do back in the mid-90s,” he said.

The split also features new material from Cleveland death metal veterans Nunslaughter, Illinois old-school death metal outfit Molder and Iowa crossover/grind band Traffic Death.

Each group recorded its contributions separately, with Noah Buchanan handling mastering duties across the release. The project will be available physically on vinyl and CD as well as digitally through Redefining Darkness Records (USA | EU/ROW) and Bandcamp.

The label notes that the split will not be released to streaming services.

Exhumed’s current lineup consists of Matt Harvey on guitar and vocals, Sebastian Phillips on guitar and vocals, Ross Sewage on bass and vocals, and Mike Hamilton on drums.
