Fervence release “Oculum” video from ‘Constructs’ album

Texas-based progressive metalcore band Fervence have released a new music video for “Oculum,” a track from their latest album, Constructs, out now through Metal Blade Records.

Founding guitarist Trent Odneal discussed the inspiration behind the song, citing Deftones’ 2003 self-titled album as a major influence.

“This song draws a lot of inspiration from the grittiness in Deftones’ self-titled album,” Odneal explained. “I really tried to make it feel dark, abrasive, human if you will, while maintaining a cinematic undertone, without overdoing it.”

The video follows previously released clips for “Zenith” and “Ascension,” both of which also appear on Constructs.

Originally formed in Reno, Nevada, in 2019 as Odneal’s solo project, Fervence released their debut album, Ghost, in 2020. The band later expanded its lineup, bringing in vocalist Stevie B. in 2023 before releasing the Realm//One EP.

Now based in Austin, Texas, the five-piece released Constructs as their Metal Blade Records debut. The 11-track album explores themes of life, death, relationships and personal experiences, combining progressive metalcore with atmospheric and melodic elements.

The record was produced by Odneal and guitarist Austin Bentley, with mixing and mastering handled by Zack Ohren.

Fervence are currently touring the United States alongside Enthronement, with remaining stops including Brooklyn, Boston, Rochester and St. Louis before the trek concludes November 1 in Tyler, Texas.

The band’s current lineup consists of Stevie B. on vocals, Trent Odneal and Austin Bentley on guitars and programming, Jon Daniels on bass, and Chris Tufino on drums.

October 25 – Boston, MA – The Cantab Underground
October 28 – Rochester, NY – Photo City Music Hall
October 31 – St. Louis, MO – Fubar Lounge
