Connecticut melodic death/doom metal band Fires in the Distance have announced a temporary lineup change for their upcoming appearance at 70000 Tons of Metal in 2027.
The band confirmed that Craig Breitsprecher will be unable to participate in the cruise as he recovers from shoulder surgery early next year. Brian Tennison of Obsidian Tongue will step in for the performance.
“Unfortunately, Craig will be recovering from shoulder surgery in early 2027 and won’t be able to join us for 70,000 Tons of Metal,” the band stated on social media. “We’re grateful to have Brian Tennison of Obsidian Tongue stepping in to fill the spot. We look forward to seeing everyone aboard!”
Fires in the Distance have not announced any additional lineup changes or indicated that the surgery will affect other performances.
