Former Every Time I Die guitarist Andy Williams, who also wrestled professionally as The Butcher, has died at the age of 48.
Williams suffered a medical emergency during Enjoy Wrestling’s Five-Year Anniversary event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night (September 5), collapsing at the end of a tag team match.
According to TMZ, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Williams died Saturday night following the medical emergency.
As previously reported, Williams collapsed at the end of his match and was immediately tended to by medical personnel. Enjoy Wrestling said doctors on site administered CPR until an ambulance arrived and transported him to the hospital. The remainder of the event was canceled.
Fightful reported following the incident that paramedics performed chest compressions and used a defibrillator while treating Williams.
All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where Williams competed for several years as The Butcher alongside his longtime tag team partner The Blade, has since issued a statement mourning his death.
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to learn of the passing of Andy Williams, aka The Butcher,” AEW stated. “A trailblazing musician with ETID and Atomic Rule, Williams made a successful transition into the world of professional wrestling and was incredibly respected by his peers both in and out of the ring.”

Williams was a founding member and longtime rhythm guitarist of Every Time I Die, performing with the influential Buffalo hardcore band throughout its career until the group disbanded in 2022. He later returned to music as a member of Atomic Rule.
Alongside his music career, Williams established himself in professional wrestling, eventually joining AEW and becoming widely known as The Butcher.
A cause of death has not been announced at the time of writing.
