Ex-Every Time I Die guitarist Andy Williams collapses during wrestling match

Former Every Time I Die guitarist Andy Williams, who also wrestles as The Butcher, collapsed at the end of a match during Enjoy Wrestling’s Five-Year Anniversary event on Saturday night (September 5).

According to Fightful, Williams’ legs buckled during the match before he fell to the floor. His tag team partner, The Blade, signaled for help and attempted to assist him back to his feet, but Williams reportedly collapsed again and lost consciousness.

Fightful reported that paramedics performed chest compressions and used a defibrillator before Williams was transported from the venue by ambulance. The remainder of the event was canceled.

Enjoy Wrestling later confirmed the medical emergency in a statement posted to social media.

“Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening,” the promotion stated. “Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived.”

Enjoy Wrestling added that those involved with the promotion were at the hospital awaiting further information.

“We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information. Thanks to everyone who helped and has reached out.”

Williams is best known in the music world as the longtime rhythm guitarist for Every Time I Die, who disbanded in 2022. He has also built a career in professional wrestling under the name The Butcher and has competed for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Williams currently plays guitar in the band Atomic Rule.

No further information regarding Williams’ condition has been released at the time of writing. We wish Andy all the best and hope for positive news regarding his recovery.
