Ghost have announced the 2 Big To Rig Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring 19 live tracks recorded in Mexico City.
The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 27, one day after the band’s 2 Big To Rig concert film begins its limited run in cinemas and IMAX screens worldwide.
Announcing the release on social media, Ghost said: “We wish to inform you that the 2 BIG TO RIG Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be released August 27th. Watch & listen to ‘Umbra’ live in Mexico City now and pre-save the digital album on your preferred streaming platform.”
The 19-track soundtrack spans Ghost’s catalog and includes live versions of “Cirice,” “Year Zero,” “Rats,” “Mary On A Cross,” “Dance Macabre,” “Square Hammer” and more, along with material from the band’s latest album, Skeletá.
The announcement follows the recent release of Ghost’s live performance of “Umbra,” which was captured during the band’s Mexico City shows and offers a preview of both the film and accompanying soundtrack.
As previously reported, 2 Big To Rig captures Ghost’s “Skeletour World Tour” and features professionally shot footage of Papa V Perpetua and the Nameless Ghouls from the band’s phone-free tour. The feature was filmed during two sold-out performances in Mexico City and shot entirely on 16mm film, combining the live show with backstage and behind-the-scenes footage.
Ghost have also released the official trailer for 2 Big To Rig, with participating theaters, showtimes and tickets available through the film’s official website.
2 Big To Rig hits cinemas and IMAX screens worldwide for a limited run beginning August 26, followed by the digital release of the soundtrack on August 27 (get it here).
