Devil Master have released “Sex with Succubus,” the final preview from their forthcoming new album, Bloody Dreams, due out next Friday through Relapse Records (pre-order/pre-save).
The track is a newly recorded version of one of Devil Master’s earliest songs, which previously appeared on Manifestations. The band brought the song back into their live set before ultimately deciding to revisit it for the new record.
Darkest Prince explains: “‘Sex with Succubus’ was added to our live set again at the behest of drummer Wrought by Fathomless Hands and it ended up a perfect addition to this record’s vibe, hearkening back to our beginnings.”
Bloody Dreams continues Devil Master’s blend of black metal, punk and psychedelia while drawing additional inspiration from folk music. The six-track record was written entirely by Darkest Prince and mastered by Arthur Rizk, with engineering handled by Davis M. Shubs and Eric Bogacz.
The album also features guest appearances from Sigh’s Mirai Kawashima, former Power Trip drummer Chris Ulsh and Arkha Sva’s Ur Èmdr Œrvn.
Speaking about some of the influences behind Devil Master’s sound, Darkest Prince said: “The only thing I’m inspired by is Greek and Andean folk music, as well as Cumbia. Folk is eternal. I think that resonates with people. It’s been cultivated forever. It’s archetypal, primal. It taps into something across cultures.”

Devil Master will also head overseas in September for a run of European dates, including shows supporting Sigh.
