GoFundMe launched for family of late musician Shaun Glass

A GoFundMe page has been launched to support the family of late musician Shaun Glass, who passed away on July 1, 2026.

The fundraiser shares additional details surrounding his passing, noting that Glass suffered a stroke on May 31, 2026, brought on by undiagnosed high blood pressure. He remained in hospital on life support for nearly a month before passing away peacefully in hospice care, surrounded by loved ones.

Glass was a longtime figure in the Chicago metal scene, best known for his work in Terminal Death, Sindrome, Broken Hope, SOiL, Dirge Within, The Bloodline, and Repentance, among others. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he played a key role in shaping and contributing to the Midwest metal scene.

According to the fundraiser, Glass’ insurance coverage is still pending, and the costs of extended intensive care, treatment, and hospital stay have resulted in significant medical and final expenses for the family.

It also explains that all donations will go into the Maddux Glass Irrevocable Trust. The fund is first used to cover medical and final expenses, with the remaining support dedicated to his son Maddux, ensuring long-term stability and educational support.

The GoFundMe emphasizes that the goal is not only to assist with immediate costs, but also to secure a future for his son.
