GWAR and Joe Bob Briggs announce album, share video

GWAR and horror host Joe Bob Briggs have announced a collaborative album, GWAR and the Last Drive-In-Stein, set for release November 13 via Pit Records. The announcement comes alongside a music video for the new single “Splatter-Fu,” written for GWAR by John Brennan.

The vinyl release celebrates more than 40 years of GWAR and Briggs’ four decades on television as a film critic and horror host.

“Lordy Lordy, look who’s 40! GWAR and Joe Bob Briggs. A match made in hell!” said GWAR vocalist Blothar. “I love horror movies, trash, and funny spooky stuff. GWAR wouldn’t exist without it.”

He added, “Now we’ve made a record together!”

Briggs also commented on the collaboration, stating, “To create the real spirit of Halloween, I called up my buddies – the intergalactic warriors who live in Antarctica – and I asked them to bring some fear, some filth, and some fun.”

GWAR and the Last Drive-In-Stein features two sides of material connected to Briggs’ horror series The Last Drive-In.

Side A captures GWAR’s performance from the show’s 2025 Halloween special, featuring original songs alongside covers associated with the series. Side B features John Brennan and the Bigfeet, The Last Drive-In’s house band, performing songs written for the show’s final two seasons.

The collection marks the third official soundtrack release from John Brennan and the Bigfeet.

The album is available for pre-order on vinyl ahead of its November 13 release.

Meanwhile, GWAR are preparing to launch their “Gor Gor Must Die!” Tour on October 27 in Charlottesville, Virginia. The trek features Midnight and Mac Sabbath as direct support, with X-COPS and Nailed Shut opening on select dates.
