Hellripper release Arctic Monkeys cover, face U.S. tour delays due to visa issues

Scottish blackened thrash metal outfit Hellripper have released a cover of Arctic Monkeys’ “If You Found This It’s Probably Too Late,” while also announcing that visa complications have delayed their arrival in the United States for their upcoming tour with Havok.

The new recording puts Hellripper’s blackened speed metal spin on the Arctic Monkeys B-side and arrives alongside two previously released covers of songs by Seattle punk band Zeke.

Hellripper mastermind James McBain explained his decision to cover the track: “I wanted to record something that would perhaps be a little unexpected, and this Arctic Monkeys B-side was screaming for the Hellripper treatment. It may be kind of surprising to some, but they’re one of my all time favourite bands, and though it may not be immediately evident in my music, they have always greatly influenced how I approach songwriting and production.”

The release comes as Hellripper prepare for their first U.S. tour, although the band’s participation has been delayed by unresolved visa applications.

In a statement shared on social media, McBain confirmed that Hellripper will miss the beginning of the trek, which also features Slackjaw and Xoth.

“Unfortunately, you may have heard that due to visa issues, our arrival in the States has been delayed,” McBain wrote. “We’ve been looking forward to our first US tour for a long time, and I know there are a lot of people who were looking forward to seeing us. I’m genuinely sorry that we won’t be there as planned.”

According to McBain, the band began the visa application process well in advance and paid for premium processing. However, administrative delays, mailing issues and difficulties securing embassy appointments have prevented the applications from being approved.

“At this stage, we’re still hoping to join the second half of the tour, but nothing is confirmed yet,” he explained. “I wish I had more concrete information to share, but unfortunately, I don’t right now.”

McBain emphasized that the scheduled concerts will proceed without Hellripper until the band is able to join, and encouraged fans to continue supporting Havok, Slackjaw and Xoth.

The tour is scheduled to run through late November, including a November 14 stop at Racket in New York City. Hellripper’s participation in that performance and other remaining dates has not yet been confirmed.

The band are touring in support of their latest album, Coronach, released March 27, 2026, through Century Media Records. The record marks Hellripper’s debut for the label and follows 2023’s Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags.
